Renting a luxury car is not the same as renting an economy car. The requirements are stricter, the deposit is larger, and the insurance question is more involved. Here is exactly what we ask for, so you know before you book whether you qualify.
How old do you have to be?
Age limits on luxury and premium vehicles are generally higher than on standard rentals because the insurance exposure is higher. That is standard across the industry, not specific to us.
What licence do you need?
A valid, unexpired driver licence.
Do you need your own insurance?
You need to be insured. Either you carry your own policy with coverage that extends to a rental of this class, or you purchase coverage through us at the time of booking.
Roadside assistance is included with insurance coverage, either yours or ours.
Worth checking before you book: many personal policies limit coverage on high-value vehicles, and many credit card rental benefits explicitly exclude vehicles above a certain value. Call your insurer and ask specifically about the vehicle class, not about rental cars generally.
What documents do you need at pickup?
ID for verification and proof of insurance. We also run a background check before every rental, without exception.
That last part is unusual and worth explaining. Most rental companies do not screen renters. We do, on every booking, because our fleet is ten vehicles rather than ten thousand, and the condition of each one matters.
How do you pay?
By card through Stripe.
What are the mileage limits?
200 miles per day, with additional miles at $1.25 each.
For context on whether that is enough: Cannon Beach and back from Portland is roughly 160 miles. Mt Hood and back is around 120. A full day in the Willamette Valley is 100 to 140. Bend or Crater Lake will exceed it, so plan those as multi-day trips.
What is the fuel or charging policy?
Return the vehicle at the fuel level it arrived with. If you do not, we reimburse the fuel invoice plus a $10 convenience fee.
What is the minimum rental?
Two days.
What would stop a booking going ahead?
Being under the minimum age. An expired or restricted licence. Insurance that does not extend to the vehicle class. A background check that does not clear. Wanting a single-day rental.
None of this is meant to be discouraging. It is meant to be clear before you book rather than after, because finding out at the point of delivery helps nobody.
Still not sure?
Message us on WhatsApp at (503) 267-5133 and describe your situation. We would rather tell you honestly in advance than take a booking that cannot proceed.
